Binding
Also known as hardcover binding, case binding has been used since the 1820’s as a method to bind books for centuries. They provide a sturdy, long-lasting method of protection of books.
What is Case Binding?
Case binding is using a hard board cover as a case which wraps around the block of pages (Also known as text block) to protect the book. The cover is then attached to the text block by endpaper which is glued to both the inside of the cover and the first and last page on both sides respectively. The text pages can be either glued using PUR glue, smyth sewn, or entirely glued together to Lay Flat.
