Wire-0
Binding

Most commonly used for stationery products including diaries, map books, atlases and other products.  Wire-O binding is also known as double loop wiredouble-oring wire and wirebind.

What is Wire-O Binding?

Punched pages are inserted into a  “C” shaped spine and a wire closer is then used to squeeze the spine until it is round. This binding method allows documents to lay completely flat or rotate 360 degrees for better management.

Wire-O binding has three common hole patterns each with specific sizes and applications. Various cover and finish options are available to fully customize your books.

2:1 pitch

Most commonly used to bind larger sized documents ranging from 5/8th in. to 1-1/4″.

Plastic Coil Binding

Plastic Coil binding is often used for quick document binding like architectural specifications or client proposals and even for more light-hearted work like children’s books.

3:1 pitch

Used for smaller sized documents the three to one pitch hole pattern has square or round holes.

Visibility

Wire-O is available in concealed or semi-concealed options. The concealed wire has a cover that wraps around the wire allowing the book’s title to be visible when placed on a shelf.
